Superintendent

Welcome to the
Millard School District! The 2010-11 school year marks my 16th year as superintendent. I am proud to serve our vibrant community including 22,000 students and 2,800 staff members.

We ensure that each child is challenged to reach his or her full potential. In fact, we guarantee success! We strive to be a world-class school system.

I think you'll agree from our many accomplishments that the Millard School District is second to none!

  • ACT scores continue to be among the highest in the state and metro with a composite score of 23.4 in 2010.
  • Terra Nova Achievement Test scores ranged between the 70th and 80th national percentiles, which means that our students scored as well or better than three-fourths of their peers nationwide.
  • Newsweek Magazine named our three high schools in its list of America's top 1,600 high schools (top 6 percent in the nation). The ranking is based on the percentage of seniors taking Advanced Placement tests.  Millard students take 33 percent of the AP exams in the state, even though our three high schools account for only 7 percent of Nebraska's total high school enrollment.
  • The American Music Conference has named the Millard School District as one of the Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America.  Millard is cited for providing outstanding music programs that enrich the lives of children.
  • Parent support is essential.  Over 94 percent gave their children’s school an A or B (65 percent gave an A). We do a great job of working with parents as vital partners in the educational process.
  • We have the best educated staff in Nebraska.  Millard employs more teachers with masters degrees than any other district.
  • We take great pride in community service. United Way recognized us as a “Community Hero.” The American Red Cross also thanked us for our philanthropy.

We believe we are a world-class school system, because we have world-class students, teachers, staff, parents and community!
